well, you can integrate forum as you whish, I would look for a forum with a good security reputation ;=)

I know that SimpleMachinesForum had a lot of security vulnerabilities, others not (so much)

Look at vanilla forums. http://vanillaforums.org/

It can be set up with a single line of java code in your template.
