(BTW I asked him before continuing with his News Manager plugin, though this is open source and you can make your own version)
If you're going to maintain it, I suggest you rename it (e.g. to site_map.php) if you're going to upload your version to Extend, so that it doesn't happen the same as with NM - people don't get notices about new versions because they have the same filename id.
