The error is:

Quote:Unable to write config file. CHMOD 777 the folders /data, /backups and their sub-folders and retry

As expected. Can I do anything to install GetSimple on my Mac? Various MAMP stacks work, but I thought maybe I could do it w/o MySQL.

PHP is enabled and responds to the usual tests.

In Terminal I have done:

Quote:chmod -R 777 backups

and

Quote:chmod -R 777 data

ls -l shows the change yet GS still gives message.

Yeah. I wasn't able to install on my Mac too. I don't have a PC or laptop with a windows OS yet.

If your using Safari, disable Caches under "Develop" menu.

Restart, but before you try again, CHMOD 777 the complete folder.

Restart, ...the installer will set the correct CHMOD.
