Hi.

Just a few questions:

1) On installation, why do I have to enter my email adress?
2) Where is my email adress stored?
3) How is the email sent? Are the informations transmitted to getsimple servers and sent from there?
4) After copying GS to a directory via filezilla and setting permissions to 755:
Are other files changed outside this directory? for example the main index.php?

5) Is editing one page by multiple users at the same time possible?
6) Is adding pictures to a page possible?
7) is it possible to see all editing by users in real time? Such as on google Docs?
8) Is editing with iPads or Android devices possible?
9) Is it possible to sort pages and files in folders?
welcome here!

I suggest you start to read the WIKI, many answers are there!

1) On installation, why do I have to enter my email adress?
because GS sends you the logindata after installation

2) Where is my email adress stored?
in the user.xml file

3) How is the email sent? Are the informations transmitted to getsimple servers and sent from there?
no

4) After copying GS to a directory via filezilla and setting permissions to 755:
Are other files changed outside this directory? for example the main index.php?

read the wiki how to move an installation

5) Is editing one page by multiple users at the same time possible?
test it. no

6) Is adding pictures to a page possible?
why not?

7) is it possible to see all editing by users in real time? Such as on google Docs?
no, get simple!

8) Is editing with iPads or Android devices possible?
all editing is done in the browser, so what?

9) Is it possible to sort pages and files in folders?
you can have multilevel menues, pages as subpages of other pages, that's what I think you want to know
but GS stores the pages in the data/pages-folder (which is not relevant)
1. generated login pass will be sent to your mail, in case you won't change it before loggin out
2. /data/users/*.xml
3. you get the confirmation e-mail directly;
if you want to fill a site survey, you can do this only manually in plugins > anonymous data tab
4. outside wich directory ?
5. this isn't a groupware CMS if you ask for such funcitonality;
anyway all registered users may edit the same page, but first saves -> first gets the output by overwriting the page content
6. it's a basic functionality of wysywig ckeditor
7. nope
8. if they allow javascript/jquery, there should be no problems
9. what do you mean by "sorting in folders" ?
Thank you for the answers

4) If the install directory is /getsimple/ does GS (installation or other) change anything outside?
e.g. the file ./index.html ?

9) For example the folder "Meetings". When clicking on it the folder openes and shows e.g. the file Meeting 26.04.2012 and other files.
So it is more clearly arranged.

Another question:
Is editing and locking a page possible? (For any User)
So nobody can edit a page and nothing gets destroyed?
CKEditor support IPAD/IoS is quiet limited as far as I know.

Everything uploaded/added/managed/changed in your GS instance, stays in installation directory.
All data created by user or plugins are saved in /data/directories

Ahh you mean sorting under files tab ?
Unfortunately files are sorted only by type (directory/file), and name. Sorting by date isn't possible.

Fortunately somebody developed couple days ago such plugin.
I'd advise to go through whole extend, and see what plugins are available for GS.

My mistake, sorry.

I meant a "folder" where all pages are inside.
Something like this:

http://www.abload.de/img/meetiw4u05.jpg

Better named: Category and pages.....
another question: Is the subpages feature an addon?
How can I create a subpage in the demo?
Just create a page and set the parent to the page you require.

Bear in mind the demo site (hosted outside of GS ) is only using 3.0 and the theme on the front end does not support submenus.
