Hi there.
I am a complete novice to all of this so sorry if my question is a little basic.
I wanted to load google webmaster tools to my site and followed the instructions for loading HTML file for verification. I uploaded this to the Files section - was this correct? It has not worked as google cannot find the verification code.

I could see that it was loading but another message flashed up which I could not read. Would this have been captured anywhere?

Any tips would be hugely appreciated.

Usually you have to add the embed code into your site.
I thin there is a plugin to do this also.

you can either use the embed code in your <head> section of your templates or the easiest method is to just put the verification file on the root of your site. (at the same level as your gscnfig.php file)

There is a verification file method? I have never used that, sounds interesting.
