Just a quickie to encourage anyone who just started using Get Simple as I have.
I've just followed the quick tutorial on making your own theme http://get-simple.info/wiki/themes:tutorial
and then downloaded Zurb Foundation 6 of which I am a huge fan and use as my main responsive resource.
Once I added foundation to the theme folder and replaced/added the tags in template.php as instructed and viewed the page results, all works as I would expect
. . . Loving it! 
I'm only in the infancy of developing themes but so far, so good.
If it works well I will add a free appropriate licence for all to use.
