I want a way so that I can receive active notification of new GS releases.

I was hoping to either subscribe to an RSS feed or forum. The "Blog" links on the top of the GS pages states the blog has been discontinued and to use the "Announcements" forum. However the last new release announcement there was for 3.3.8 while 3.3.9 has been out since 4/20/16. What's the proper place for me to subscribe and receive release notifications? Or can the Announcements forum be kept current?

3.3.9 is not being announced, 3.3.10 will be.

Announcements are automatically posted to facebook and twitter.
You can also subscribe to any rss feeds, link is at bottom of forum.

What was the reason that 3.3.9 isn't being announced?

Because it requires browser cache to be cleared, and will be problematic for many users after installing.
