Can't find a theme name constant and the global variable $TEMPLATE is throwing an error in my custom theme.
I know I can derive the name from get_theme_url() but would rather not have to post process yet another variable ( and it's suppose to be Get Simple right? Wink )

I added get_theme_name() to theme_functions.php to work around this.
Code:
/**
* Get Theme Name
* CWD
* This will return the current active theme's Name
*
* @since 3.3.12
* @uses $TEMPLATE
*
* @param bool $echo Optional, default is true. False will 'return' value
* @return string Echos or returns based on param $echo
*/
function get_theme_name($echo=true) {
    global $TEMPLATE;
    $myVar = $TEMPLATE;

    if ($echo) {
        echo $TEMPLATE;
    } else {
        return $TEMPLATE;
    }
}
Unless I'm missing something, I was wondering if this could be added in future versions.

Thanks

Why?

Outside global space use:

Code:
global  $TEMPLATE;
