I've installed about 8 themes; 5 show up in the dropdown list but the others do not.
Anyone have any advice on how to solve this problem???

No idea maybe they have subfolders when you extracted them

In each theme must be a file called "template.php". Otherwise the theme is not displayed in the dropdown field. Maybe this file ist not present in all themes?
