Theming Team? (UPDATE!) - oToom - 2009-12-31

Okay so, the theming team has been started.

Design and Dev: patrickm

I need of a few more participants..

Theming Team? (UPDATE!) - Zegnåt - 2009-12-31

I’m game.

oToom Wrote:Or as you could call it, mod free templates to work with GetSimple.
I wouldn’t try to built a team to create high quality themes just to do that. It would be a lot more interesting to come up with new designs and different menus etc.

Theming Team? (UPDATE!) - oToom - 2009-12-31

Then get a team together to do so. Like i said, the team CAN use other designs.
But yes, better off, design our own.

Here is one of my old designs.

For example, if the "content" area had two sides to it. How would we do this. Say left side is content. Right side a component?

Theming Team? (UPDATE!) - internet54 - 2009-12-31

^ That is correct. Easiest way to add extra content to a page is through components.

Theming Team? (UPDATE!) - oToom - 2009-12-31

Ah, sweet sweet!
My computer comes later today, will start designing and coding then!

Or you could use my solution here to provide extra tinyMce editable areas to your pages.

Theming Team? (UPDATE!) - oToom - 2010-01-02

Thanks Mike. Just a quick question though, when you say to add it into tempalte functions. Do you mean make a functions.php then call functions.php at the top of your template.

Then call the function to get the text?

Theming Team? (UPDATE!) - n00dles101 - 2010-01-02

Hi,

Just create a functions.php in your template directory and copy the function to it.
No need to include it, It will be automatically included if it exists.

Mike.

Theming Team? (UPDATE!) - oToom - 2010-01-02

Ah i see, cheers for that mate, thanks!

Theming Team? (UPDATE!) - Alexey - 2010-01-24

I want to participate. Smile

Theming Team? (UPDATE!) - superyms - 2010-02-04

hi,

I'd like to participate within this adventure...how to do?

Theming Team? (UPDATE!) - oToom - 2010-02-26

I got an email of subbu about something.

If nothing happens i'll set up a team and website etc when i have more time. Atm though i am totally stuck with school work and more so if anyone wishes to take this on then please do so.

Theming Team? (UPDATE!) - PRAG - 2010-02-26

Hi,
I'm more a graphic designer than web designer or developer. But if I can be useful, I will participate.
Just contact me.

Theming Team? (UPDATE!) - oToom - 2010-03-17

Okay, so i'm still tied down with alot of courseowork for school etc.
Not to mention the depressive state i have been in for a few weeks now after loosing my 2year girlfriend to some random gimp lmao that she met for 2 days.

Anyways, i will try and dedicate atleast 1 hour back into searching this forum, coding, / designing etc.
PRAG i am the same, i'm more into the designing interfaces rather than coding them up due to my mind just goes off on one when coding them up and DIV's give it a spaz of bordem and frustration.

Anyways, i will get something together quite soon. I'm currently going to try using NinkoBB for my site (Thankyou btw Niji for that release). I will open up a section for who wish to participate, some work you have done etc etc. I mean, obviously me being leader will have to do something, but if i atleast just get the team going at first i can get on with what i need to do aswell and then do something here and there when i got some spare time.

I'll keep you all informed either via this or PM.

The great thing with a team is that it doesn’t matter, I myself love the code editor a lot more. So just throwing up an image could trigger me into converting it to a full-scale layout ;-)

Theming Team? (UPDATE!) - oToom - 2011-03-13

Right then, i have dug this up. We had a few people say they would participate but never got around to it.
I have finished with school, well i did a while ago and now i'm at college with even less time, but hay. Late nights always do the trick.

Who wants to still participate in a Themes Group / Team?

We preferably need a mixture of both Designers and Developers.

Say,
3 Designers.
3 Developers.

If you know both that is fine.

Post in here if you want to participate, and we shall think of a way to communicate with each other, the way i would think best is if we got 3 designers and 3 developers, we could pair up.
So 1 designer works with 1 developer. Designs, then send it across to be developed etc, kind'a like mini teams within the group.

I'll be the main man Wink
I can design and also develop (when i'm in the mind set to develop :p)
We still need 3designers and 3 developers though, excluding me.

We will be designing all kinds of themes, professional standard. Like these http://www.hongkiat.com/blog/60-high-quality-free-web-templates-and-layouts/

This could be a huge step with get-simple!

Theming Team? (UPDATE!) - patrickm - 2011-03-19

I'll help out. I can do either design or dev.

Theming Team? (UPDATE!) - oToom - 2011-03-19

Sounds good mate, PM me any previous work if you don't mind.
Need a few more people too..

Theming Team? (UPDATE!) - alex_d - 2011-03-23

Interesting,
I could provide the front-end & design, when my time allows.
I expect back-end support and some exclusivity from made templates.
Need dev's for GS anyway for my next (bigger) project.
