Get Simple Wiki Theme or Plugin? - gsman - 2014-12-14 I was wondering if there were any plugins or themes that allow you to build a a Wiki style site with Get Simple? If not what would people recommend I use to build a Wiki in Get Simple? Has anyone on these forums done this? I know people are going to recommend the plethora of Wiki software but the reason I'd like to use Get Simple is these requirements.
I've been looking for good Wiki software that is not database driven since my web hosting company acts like a B$%& even with moderate database connections. (Stablehost btw.) I really hate Wiki syntax and who wants to learn that to edit an article? The Wiki sites I want to build will be to attract regular people so I need a WSIWYG editor. Appreciate any tips or advice on how to do this with Get Simple. RE: Get Simple Wiki Theme or Plugin? - gsman - 2014-12-28 So nobody has an answer for this? RE: Get Simple Wiki Theme or Plugin? - shawn_a - 2014-12-28 There is none RE: Get Simple Wiki Theme or Plugin? - datiswous - 2015-01-02 (2014-12-14, 11:29:13)gsman Wrote: I've been looking for good Wiki software that is not database driven since my web hosting company acts like a B$%& even with moderate database connections. As far as I know Dokuwiki has a wysiwyg-editor plugin. What do you seek in a cms/plugin a wiki provides? Multi user + version control? RE: Get Simple Wiki Theme or Plugin? - Lars - 2015-01-03 A WIKI without Wiki/Markdown Syntax isn't a Wiki ;-) I love the simlyfied and easy way to write content... RE: Get Simple Wiki Theme or Plugin? - WerWieWas - 2015-01-14 Quote: MoinMoin should fullfil your requirements: http://moinmo.in/MoinMoinFeatures (and can be themed to look much better than what MoinMoin's own site shows, check out https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ (as MoinMoin claims and https://wappalyzer.com/ confirms, it is using MoinMoin)) But it is not a PHP Wiki, it's written in Python. WikiMatrix may help you choose (I did a selection for you as example): http://www.wikimatrix.org/wizard.php?d[pl][]=PHP&d[pl][]=PHP%2BJavascript&d[pl][]=PHP%2C+XSL%2C+JavaScript&d[pl][]=Programming+Language+%09Not+relevant+%28completely+self-contained%29&d[pl][]=Python&d[pl][]=Python+and+JavaScript&d[pl][]=&d[foss]=free&d[storage]=file&d[flag]=1&d[language]=&d[support]=&d[wysiwyg]=yes&d[history]=yes&d[go]=1&x=34&y=14 The already mentioned DokuWiki (see someone else's post above) is also among the results. And MoinMoin have their own wiki comparison page: http://moinmo.in/WikiEngineComparison Hope this helps. Yes and good clear documentation with forum support. (2015-01-14, 04:57:58)WerWieWas Wrote: MoinMoin should fullfil your requirements: Thanks @WerWieWas. I'll look into MoinMoin especially if Ubuntu uses it. I don't like Dokuwiki. RE: Get Simple Wiki Theme or Plugin? - datiswous - 2015-01-24 Just for info: Found this wiki: http://wikitten.vizuina.com/ RE: Get Simple Wiki Theme or Plugin? - gsman - 2015-02-21 Done more research, seems Dokuwiki is the best idea. WP has options but they are all paid. RE: Get Simple Wiki Theme or Plugin? - paknoukri - 2015-07-05 Hello may be in future we can make such sites with GS CMS, and we all are waiting for such thing to happen here in GS. |
