Wordpress Blog Integration
#1
I have a website called iRISE media (http://www.irisemedia.com/) that, as of right now is built on a custom PHP layout with a Wordpress blog. The main site pages call Wordpress posts directly from Wordpress, and the main engine file, "blog/wp-load.php," is called from the Header file.

I am trying to move the main site into GetSimple (http://projects.irisemedia.com/irise-getsimple/), while keeping the blog in Wordpress. The problem I'm running into right now is in integrating the Wordpress posts, as when I try to include "blog/wp-load.php" into the theme header file, I get a Server Error. Is there something in GetSimple that can be done to override this? Wordpress posts integration into our site is crucial as the updated posts enhance SEO value to our main pages!

While I'm on this topic, is there a way to add custom field taxonomies to each page in order to integrate into the theme? For example, let's say a Wordpress post category ID is 31. I want to enter that category ID into the page so that the theme page displays blog posts for that specific category ID. Any advice? Thanks.

Blog feeds - I have done it with blogger and with tumblr but not with wordpress, although I guess it would work the same.

feedburner makes an rss feed from your blog.
buzzboost converts it to html for your GS page

setup is just a question of filling in web forms and entering urls an such

To insert content from RSS/Atom feeds in your GS site without relying on external services you can also use the GetFeed plugin (+ MagpieRSS)

I'm using the GetFeed plugin and so far, everything works EXCEPT for Description, which returns as "array" (http://projects.irisemedia.com/irise-getsimple/). How can this be fixed?

Also, I need the ability to add the author as well.

Never mind, I figured it out by modifying the plugin that wasn't touched in 3 years. I will try to post an updated version of it shortly for those that really need it.

It's a permanent problem round here. Nobody even knows what is in the Extend archive and certainly not what works and what might be useful.

If you get the plugin to a useable state please feel free to relabel it and reupload it so others can use it. Everything in extend is contributed with an implicit license that allows for it to be taken over, edited, adapted and repackaged.

This was my first GS plugin. I have not updated it since version 0.4.1 (beta) simply because there have not been any issues reported and it has always worked for me.

No problem. I've made some changes to show the author as well as a valid description/preview. How can I upload the changed files to your site and GetSimple's site?

I suggest you post it here as an attachment, but maybe better in the support thread. Or if there are few changes, post them there or in the GitHub repo, or fork it. Thanks.

PS I just wanted to note that the plugin is not an abandoned one like others.

Apologies. I should not have assumed it was. I didn't even look. Sorry.
