The editor shows buttons for the standard formats of "quick response" or standard text area
but the formatting is not saved.
Since the update of the forum software I have problems with formatting postings here, using Firefox 12.0 WIN

I am experiencing the same problems with any browser. I believe Chris is aware of the issue though.

Found this in the source of this page:

The editor buttons are referring to the pun_bbcode plugin.

Yes, it does work now (after clearing cache) in FF.
However, selecting a part of a post and clicking Reply still doesn't work - only getting an empty quote instead the selected text.

That should be sorted now, just needed to reregister that particular extension.
