i made this to go into a theme's functions.php. it outputs breadcrumbs as list items, so it drops into a bootstrap3 based design.

a little messy (not a dev so please tell me if i screwed something up ;p), but it seems to work. at least i was able to run it 3 levels deep on a local windows xampp install ...
