I think it would be better to have an image uploader from the page editor, from when you click the image button instead of having URL as the main option, have a upload image and or select uploaded image.

Doesn’t Mike’s KCFinder plugin offer you the ability to upload from there? It might be what you’re looking for.
We might implement KCFinder with future versions of GetSimple, no decision on this has been made yet though.

Hi there. if you want you can also try this change I made . It changes the image and link dialogs of CKEditor
with the files in your uploads folder http://get-simple.info/forum/viewtopic.php?id=1048
