I got that message after upgrading 3.3.3 to 3.3.4 when visiting mysite.com/admin

So I cannot visit "/admin" to complete my upgrade.

I followed the instructions for upgrading with the only exception that I removed the group write permission because my host does not allow it.

Any hints? Thanks in advance.

did you rename admin to something else in gsconfig perhaps?
Sounds like you did not install properly perhaps.

by no means. This is what I did:
* downloaded 3.3.4 zipfile
* unzipped into a private directory in my account (I had to do it since the zipfile unfolds to a directory which in turn has the site structure.
* cd /home/myaccount/GetSimpleCMS-3.3.4/
* chmod -R g-w ./*
* cp ./* /home/myaccount/public_html/ -Rv
* cd /home/myaccount/public_html/
* chmod -R 755 ./admin/

and that's it.

I don't know how that's possible, either your admi. Subfolder requests are redirecting or something else is wrong. Does your admin/index exist? Does your error log say anything?
That message only comes from the front end index, so this is very strange.

Try admin/update.php
