Hi!
I'm glad you decided to give GetSimple a try. I'll see if I am able to help you out a bit on some of these questions.
1. The error you are receiving simply means that ZipArchive is not installed on the server you are hosting your site. This doesn't affect your site itself, it simply means that when you create a site backup you will not be able to download it in ".ZIP" file format. Instead you will download it in the native file format that your host uses (most likely .tar.gz).
By the way the site backups can be found in the admin area under Backups > Website Archives
2. What page is blank? You can edit the content of pages in the back office under the "Pages" tab, simply select the page you wish to use and edit the page content. Remember to Publish/Save Updates after making changes. Also, if you create new pages make sure you link to those pages or place them in the menu (this is done in the Page Options).
3. Any uploads done through the files Tab will be uploaded to the following directory:
BaseDirectory/data/uploads/
If you wish to upload files to other directories outside of your get-simple installation I would suggest you do so with the use of an FTP client.
As a great starting point I suggest you take a look at the Wiki which can guide you through the process of creating pages, adding content, modifying pages, uploading files, installing themes, and a lot more.
