I used that host (great choice!) with getsimple, works fine, but i hope you realize NFSn is not a beginner friendly host, servers are configured with tight security and you're supposed to be able to login via ssh and perform some maintenance, if i recall correct the suggested method to update a wordress was via a svn switch, so it's by design that, due to serious security setting, many CMS and apps don't work out of the box, even very famous one, especially if you don't know what's needed and how to set permissions. But everything is usually well documented in their knowledge base and their community is willing to help. That said if i recall correct i used to chown -R to web:web and after setup reset to strict permission. By the way, on NFSn there's no free support, there's a competent community and a very large and well written knowledge base, but if one to one support is needed to install a cms that's not free, but you can count on very expert techs. IIRC their default choice is that php should not be able to write and modify files unless explicitly configured to, but that's well documented.
