PROBLEM Basic.php error (PHP versio 5.5.22
#1
Hello Everyone,

I tried to install Get-Simple from another webhosting PHP 5.3 to a webhosting with PHP 5.5.22 but I get simply a blank page.

Does anyone know what I can do to solve this problem? The warning message in my logs from the hosting are:

AH01071: Got error 'PHP message: PHP Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '<' in /myadress/public_html/admin/inc/basic.php on line 669\n'[/b]

Did you follow the Wiki migration procedure?

GS v3.3.5 runs without issues on PHP v5.5.22.

Not sure, but may be a problem with a bad language file (in admin/lang)

It should still work with the distributed en_US file.

@mfeenstra123: what is the hosting company?

Hosting Company is Gethost.nl in the Netherlands. I have also tried with 000webhost with the same problem. I always use Gethost and created many websites with it and never had an issues.

Sounds like a BOM or some other encoding issue
