QUESTION File repository plugin (similar to Joomla-Docman e.g.)
#1
Hi!
As the title says: I'm looking for a plugin, where I can put several documents (most PDF-files, some images, and other document-types) online for easy download by visitors. Would be the best if a default directory, for example 'download-repository' will be indexed, and gets searchable. I tried some plugins, but did't find something really fitting. At the moment I just open a directory with several subfolders per .htaccess apache directory indexing, but there must be a bit nicer solution, with search option. Years ago I used the "Docman"-component in Joomla-CMS. But I really like GetSimple and want to get this functionality running within' my actual favourite cms ;-)

Is there a plugin existing for a nice file-download directory?

Thanks for some hints!

I tried "Item Manager", "Client Files", "SimpleDir", "Extend downloader" and others, which are in relation (from the titlesearch) to my needs. But nothing fits exactly. I need something like this: http://get-simple.info/extend/ Smile

You might need a combination of different plugins, to get exactly what you want..

Yes, this was indeed my last try last night before I started this question-thread. I did not get how to display my file-repository directory inside a page. I just can implement information to single files with the "(% dlm filename.xxx parameter %)" and so on commands?!

Is there a better documentation, how to implement it - so that it looks like a file-explorer, giving the chance to browse the directory and search it, including some infotext for each file (if exists)?

Hi
you can do that by using ItemManger, something like this I have made already few times and also demonstrated many examples which illustrates how you can do it.
