No login screen
#1
I have a minor problem in that I can't seem to log in to the GS dashboard from my WAMP2 server. I start the WAMP server, select Localhost (which starts the server in my browser). Then in Project Folders ("Your Projects") I select CMS which takes me into the Parent Directory of my server (this is where I select GetSimple from other projects). This then loads the browser view of the page. I cannot, however get to log in and edit GS. What am I doing wrong?

You have been having quite a bit of trouble with this install on your WAMP server.... Can you attach a screenshot of the page you see when you try to login? Or is it just a blank white screen?

Chris, I think most of the trouble I've been having can be put down to ignorance; I installed both server and GS onto another machine within a matter of minutes once I'd realised that the PHP/Apache extensions were what was causing the foul-up!

When it comes to logging in, I go into the server directory but instead of a login screen (username etc.) I simply get the GetSimple demo screen cap.

In order to get in and start editing, I have to do a fresh install. I know it sounds weird, but I simply do not get the login screen when I retry. Mmm, can't figure out how to insert img. Nothing new there.

Don't know if this helps, but in the GS admin folder there's a logout.php file but not a login.php file!?! Probably nothing.

There shouldn’t be any login page, don’t worry.

There is however no link to reach the admin page after you’ve installed everything. What you have to do is simply point your browser to the admin folder.

If you installed GetSimple at http://localhost/GetSimple/ you will need to go to http://localhost/GetSimple/admin/ to reach the login page.

Danke. It might not be a bad idea to include that useful piece of information in the installation instructions. Wink
