There are many things which could be improved in the backend.
Some functionalities are hardcoded, some frontend functionalities could be greatly improved with jquery, but it would cost lot of additional time.

There's still 1 thing I'd like to offer as a plugin.
And its embedding other page's excerpt.
Currently it's only possible to show an excerpt of the same page.
