It was yojoe's original work – he is still credited in the file header for this derivative version, as is p01, who previously modified the original plugin.

Perhaps there should be an explicit requirement (maybe there already is?) that plugins in Extend should be under GPLv3, as is GS ? Thus, authors retain copyright, but anyone can take and modify, with an obligation to publish modifications.
