In the gsconfig.php file, uncomment the line
Code:
#define('GSNOUPLOADIFY', 1);

Anyone knows how to make the basic uploader check for existing files and ask to overwrite (like Uploadify does). Any files that i can copy from the current beta to temporarily ‘hack’ this?

Ya I tried this before but doesn't work locally or on my server (blank pages) and it is huge 2MB! I prefer something more lightweight and just get the job done (just the overwriting part will be great). Best if anyone can port the dropzone from v3.4 as a plugin for v3.3

One of the good things about GS that I really love, is that it allows you easy to use any PHP or JS library or framework.
Do you know how to use Google ?  Here are just two examples I found for you in less than a minute:

PHP
http://www.gerd-tentler.de/tools/filemanager/

JS
http://filedropjs.org/demo/

Here is another honorable mention with php code to inspire for making your own file upload plugin
http://jymden.com/php-simple-picturefile-upload-script/

There are hundreds more of them out there, bigger and smaller, for you to apply and customize to your own needs.

It should be safe to assume GetSimple CMS project developers will resolve the unsupported Flash issue before year's end and the user community should not need to sweat this or scramble to find some solution. We should assume the next GS version will remove all Flash plugins from the File manager function.

I'm not so sure, it's been an ask since 2013, supposedly "dropzone" was supposed to replace the flash applet, but, um... where is it? Undecided
