Get Simple Mobile Version for Public Safety
#1
Evening All,

Needing a little guidance here and thought I might tap into the wealth of knowledge in this forum.

I am involved in a project to provide a ubiquitous heterogeneous wireless mesh for public safety. We are using Raspberry Pi Zero W's to form the backbone, with wireless nodes and super nodes. On each of these units I want to deploy a mobile version of Get Simple CMS, and I need it to be mobile. In the event of a natural disaster the only thing that we'll be left with is our mobile devices, no power and no comms.
So enter SafetyNet, a local WLAN, utilising Get Simple.
I have done a mock up off what I am looking to create here - https://safetynet.8b.io/, so if anyone has any ideas or suggestions on how this could be acheived, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Matt

I guess you need a mobile theme, a contact form plugin, a blog plugin (?) and maybe user management?

Yup that sounds more or less about it. User management I hope will run off mobile numbers as ID, blog plugin for news updates. So any suggestions on a mobile theme that I can edit or could I just use html in responsive template?

You can convert an existing html css theme to GS, documentation is in the wiki, or use one of the many mobile themes you find in Extend and edit them to your liking:
For example:
http://get-simple.info/extend/theme/spectral/1059/
http://get-simple.info/extend/theme/verti/1046/
http://get-simple.info/extend/theme/millg/1058/

I advice you to focus on the features you need (and how to make them work) first, before investing in the looks. Especially since user management is not included in GS.

Thankyou, and will do!
