I am upgraded to 1.7, and I am just experimenting with the two default themes. If I switch the theme I am editing via the dropdown menu, I get the error I am uploading.

hmm, I tested 1.7 with themes Default_Simple, FrenchAvenue and simpletheme ... same error.
editing template in browser (ff) - saving it - then swithing to another template - error message displays.

Thanks guys I didn't see this until now. I think it may be a .htaccess issue. I will investigate.

I fixed it by using jquery instead of the custom javascript script i found on the web somewhere... so it will be fixed in the next version of GS (2.0)
