I think a push for developers to create more admin templates would highly benefit getsimple.
Don't get me wrong, I love the simplicity and easy to use interface of the default admin template.
However, some target audiences could benefit from different structures and layouts.
I made a nice alteration with
Chris's iOs Header Bar within 20 minutes. Its not too difficult.

Well, official way of making admin themes can only change colors, so it's very limited and it doesn't work in 3.0 right now because of bug:
http://get-simple.info/wiki/admin_themes
But if you mean way of making with
Custom Admin CSS plugin, then yes we would make more admin themes and kinda have thinking about making admin themes for GS.

I purposely made the admin templates not CSS because I didn't want anyone messing with the layout of the site - only adding branding colors that either matched their company or colors that matched the front of the client-site.
Not all people would do such a good job of it as Mike did with the iOS header bar.

Your right I suppose, if someone made a low quality template it could ruin a lot of peoples perception of the cms if it effects performance.
