Whoah,
I just found out that if you select text in a forum post and then hit the reply button, only the selected text is being quoted. Nice!

It gets better than that.
You can highlight part of an existing post and click 'Quick quote' to put the selection, complete with attribution, in the Quick Reply text box at the bottom of the page. By repeating those actions, quotes from multiple sources (or multiple edited quotes from the same source post) can be assembled in a single reply.
