Help converting an existing design to GetSimple
#1
Hi all,
I have a small website that I'm working on(www.aucap.org.ht), I have already started it in plain HTML/CSS now I would like to use GetSimple because I think this will make it easier to update the site. But I don't know how to convert the existing (CSS) design into GetSimple. Can anybody help me with that issue. This the first website that I'm designing, so I'm new to the field. If you have any suggestions on how to improve my design please let me know. Thanks

welcome here!

Well, you will need a little HTML knowledge, for sure,
But it is not difficult and we all started once

1) take one html-file of your website which you want to be the template for the layout
2) analyze what is content and what is layout
3) study a typical Getsimple Template: open it in a text editor and identify the necessary template tags (for menu, for content, for sidebar for example)

4) add the necessary tags into the html
5) save it as template.php
6) upload it to your themes folder
7) activate it and test it

these are the basic steps

Connie's checklist was to the point. Follow that and you should not have a hard time.
If you have any questions, I am willing to help newcomers to this industry.
