Page Title - Meta Info Not Updating On Seach Engines

I updated the title and description / meta information on my index page.

It shows the changes when you view the webpage, but the changes have not been updated on search engines (Google - Yahoo.) . It has been over two weeks since the updates. I have even created a new site map and pinged the major seach engines.

Any idea why the changes are not showing up on the search engines ?

use the webmastertools to ask for a new indexing of your pages

For the meta description, Google sometimes doesn't use the text you've provided if it finds something it thinks is better. The title in Google should always be the same as what you've specified on the page, though.
