Components Edit
#1
Just a idea in the Edit Components section.

If you have more components like 10 15 or more, it will be long list. So will it be possible to make the box (where you writing links or code) expendable?

Thank you.
Rich
I don't say this enough, but I do appreciate the help.

you mean like making the textarea be able to collapse and expand?

I made that available in my WP-Components Wordpress plugin, but didn't do it here...

How about just using anchor tags?

Have a list of the component names at the top of the page that link to the component for quick access.
No need to have to hide/unhide components.
Clients always want to be able to change the content of their pages, but they are unwilling to do so.

Have you ever coded in your underwear before?

This to is a good idea.

Whichever is easier.

Internet54's idea would be easiest to implement, but I think the expand/collapse would be more elegant. I will add this to the trac as a possible upgrade so we can keep track of it for future 2.x releases.

^ I agree about the elegant part, but isn't that part of why people are moving away from WP? The admin area is slow. Take for example the Widgets area, yes it's slick, but it's terribly slow and it wastes my time.

Combine both worlds? Make an anchor list which will be hidden by default? I would guess an anchor list would get very irritating when you only have 2 or 3 components and you’re wasting space on a list.

This seems a bit silly to me. As we have no idea about the screen resolution and therefore no solid way of knowing how many components would be manageable. It might force some people to scroll down 3 “screen heights” and others only 1. But please try to show me why it would be the best way, and what the best number for x would be.

Two rows of anchor text above the components would be plenty for anyone. More than that, use a different system.

The text area boxes will be WAY larger, and haven't you read "Don't stop at the fold, users do scroll".

Example: http://animenetworx.net/images/up/itsnotobtrusive.png the number of boxes will always outweigh the number of links regardless of screen size.

Example 2: http://animenetworx.net/images/up/orattop.png at the top could be fine too :/
