Error with new installing 3.1

I have uploaded all files GetSimple 3.1 on my Linux host with php 5.2.17, also CHMOD is 755...
but when I go to the folder where I uploaded the files to finish the installation I get this error:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '&', expecting T_VARIABLE or '$' in /web/htdocs/www.miodominio.it/home/test/admin/inc/common.php on line 19

Why? What should I do?

Sorry, I solved!
I thought it was php 5.2.17 but there was still an old version of php 4.x ...
