Downloaded website doesn't load css and plugins
#1
Hello,

I have uploaded my website, but I accidentley overwrited my website in my Xampp folder.

So to work further on my website, I downloaded it from the server, and changed the url in website.xml in the folder:
' ->data->other ' back intro http://localhost/

But when I want to view it, it says it can't load the css and my slider jqeury etc. I have included a print screen for you to see.

Also all the links to the css and plugins are correct. Maybe there is an other file except the website.xml that has to be changed before I can view it normal in localhost?

I hope you guys can help me as my website is almost finished. I have already uploaded a dutch and an english version of what I have so far at: http://www.studiobruinsma.nl/ , and http://en.studiobruinsma.nl/

This is my first Get-Simple website btw.

Yours faithfully,

I think I explained it wrong,

Those websites are displaying good, but when I want to open it in Xampp through http://localhost/
THEN it is not displaying right, as you can see in the screenshot.

And my question is, why does my website display correctly online and why does it faill to display correctley when I am viewing it in my locallhost?

Also I have changed nothing in my Xampp so I don't think that's the problem.
And I also fixed the link from studiobruinsma.nl to http://localhost/

I hope you can help me.

This was your mistake. The current link in the website.xml should be http://localhost/GetSimple_3.1/, because that’s where you are running the site at locally.

I can see in your screenshot it is trying to load the CSS from http://localhost/theme/studio_bruinsma/style.css but I’m willing to bet that this CSS file is actually at http://localhost/GetSimple_3.1/theme/studio_bruinsma/style.css.
