Navigation Question

Greetings,
I'm working on a site project that has a need for two navigation options.

1. The master navigation is contained on a horizontal bar at the top of the page. It will remain consistent and will appear in each page.

2. The secondary navigation will be located on the left column. This navigation should show sub pages of a particular page if need be and if not, it will show a copy of the master navigation.

Example:
Page is "Footware."
Left column will contain Sneakers, Boots, Clogs, Heels....

Is that possible with the recent menu options for GS?

Should be possible with either http://get-simple.info/forum/viewtopic.php?id=305, http://get-simple.info/forum/viewtopic.php?id=235 or something custom you can come up with using the menu_data() function.

Did you manage to get this working at all homershines? I'm looking for the exact same thing but wanted to see if anything was pre-built before i lunge myself into it.
