Anchor tag is missing after changing image through cms

I copied html file to get simple cms 3.1.2 firefox version...the anchor tag contains img tag under it...i have used anchor tag outside img tag for purpose of zooming image, once i change image through cms, the anchor tag is missing and zoom functionality is not working.......

Same problem is arising if i used <div> or <span> or <p> tag inside <a> tag..

i have attached screen shots before changing and after changing images...

please help me out

What you report here is not good, but: we cannot help you if you do not give us the URL of your site
where we can check the complete HTML-construct.

If not, we need a crystal ball to interprete your situation ;=)

The proper way is to use an image tag nested inside the link.
The link hrefs to the large image, and you add a special class or rel to it.

So add your image then click it then add the link to the image.

You can right click the image and will have options for editing the link or the image.
You can also do this by selecting the tag you want in the bottom dom path and then click the appropriate icon.

It sounds like instead of changing the image source you deleted it and added it again.
You probably deleted the link as well.
