#1
I'm really interested in this, this format has better compression than jpeg, for more info about this format here https://developers.google.com/speed/webp/

Thanks

And ?
You think everyone out there will rush to implement this on all websites ?
Until you kill oldiIEs<9 completely, and force Mozilla to support this format, don't count that webp will get attention.
Once upon a time, a jpeg2000 appeared. He was thought to be a jpg killer.
Who even knows about jpeg2000 despite some photographers and video editors ?

Nope, even .png is not that popular as it should.
Addons: blue business theme, Online Visitors, Notepad

I think if you wait for Google, from at least 50% of users in this format, it will make him pay.
Sorry, Google's translation Smile

It would probably be trivial to add it, but we might run into issues of our uploader scripts we use.
We might have to make sure our allowed files list is globalized across the system.

Otherwise I do not see how we could add support, you should be able to use them just fine.
Ckeditor might not support them yet, but that is not something we can control.

But try to find out if you wish. It would be nice to know. We are in dire need of an update to our dependancies.
