RESOLVED: Fancy URL- Not Working 404 Page Error
#1
Alright, I'm using Get Simple CMS on www.krystalwatters.com, my hosting is Fatcow.

The health check has everything as okay.
Quote:GetSimple Version 3.1.2 - Latest version installed
Server Setup

PHP Version 5.2.17 - OK
cURL Module Installed - OK
GD Library Installed - OK
ZipArchive Installed - OK
SimpleXML Module Installed - OK
Apache Mod Rewrite Installed - OK

All 'Data File Integrity Check' as XML Valid-OK

All 'Directory Permissions' as 0755 Writable-OK

.htacess Existence

/data/ Good 'Deny' file - OK
/data/uploads/ Good 'Allow' file - OK
/data/users/ Good 'Deny' file - OK
/data/cache/ Good 'Deny' file - OK
/data/thumbs/ Good 'Allow' file - OK
/data/pages/ Good 'Deny' file - OK
/plugins/ Good 'Deny' file - OK
/data/other/ Good 'Deny' file - OK
/data/other/logs/ Good 'Deny' file - OK
/theme/ No file - OK

However I waited nearly 24hours and still doesn't work. When I preview the other pages (About, contact, etc). I get 404 error page: Page Not Found. Just to be clear this is true for if you try to go to the page or if I'm working on the page and click the 'view' button.

Now I did go through the forums and there was some mentioning of All Allow Overide or something similiar that is often needed for Windows. I'm using Windows 7. However the posts were unclear of where such is needed or where to find the file to add this.

So if anyone can help on the details of this matter, it would be appreciated.
Thanks

is there a .htaccess file present in your root GS directory ?

edit: mmkay, search through forums for nginx rewrite rules, and use them.
As one of GS users kindly provided them.
GS fancy urls will work by default only on apache webserver.
Addons: blue business theme, Online Visitors, Notepad

Ah, thank you for mentioning the .htaccess file in root directory. I check and it wasn't there.

I got it where it should be and double check the code. And now it's working.

Thanks so much. Oh the little important things~
