backend extremely slow

hi! Since some days the backend on different installations acts super slow. When I click for instance "plugins" it takes 10-20 minutes to load.

When I want to load p01-contact Plugin Settings, theres only a white blank box appearing...

I tried it on two different installations at the same hoster - it worked before...
Any ideas?

Hi! I have both on the same hoster.
What could I ask the provider for? Mayber something wrong with php?

turn debug mode on, check error logs, etc etc.

could be anything, file load issues, infinite loops, php should die after 60 seconds usually.

Are you sure its not your browser ?

Optimize your Database,
Delete inactive plugins,

all your suggestions are foolish in concern to the existing problem. Maybe you just copied some "101-tipps" for Wordpress users etc.

The problem is that the backend suddenly got slow, there is no database, the css is not affected in this case

you are welcome to contribute to GetSimple, but please do not just post something... ;=)

Hi there,

the problem still occurs. I found out, that I can't get the information about the lates Version of getSimple to download in admin/health-check.php

"Upgrade Check Failed !"

Everything else is marked as "ok".

in debug i am getting:"Cannot modify header information - headers already sent b..."

Maybe somebody can tell me, what it could be now? So I can tell my hoster...

Hi Shawn,

well, it started just some time ago. Before I had no problems. Maybe the Hoster changed something - I don't know. Everything worked nicely before. But I have the feeling that something isn't loaded. Of course I read the other thread - and I tried what you suggested there, to turn on gsnovercheck and things, but no luck.

I also installed a fresh vershion, it acts a bit faster, but the same error with "Upgrade Check Failed !".
Maybe it is my hoster - what could I tell him?

I was looking for something a bit more specific as to when you noticed it, we recently changed hosts in the past few weeks.

What i suggest was to use my test file and get the output. But if you do not want to that is understandable.

ah! Ok - sorry. I didn't get this hint. I will check it!

Thanks for the files. I put it in, tried both.
The problem still occurs. "Upgrade Check Failed !".
First I got the "curl" error as hd, than with the second file it worked without error.

But I have the feeling, that the overall speed is better with your template_functions.php.

btw - I am not using i18n plugin like hd.

My hoster is Strato.de in Germany.
PHP5.3

Would be interesting where user "hd"s hoster is.

just now saw that your problem seems to be related to mine, while i don't see the extreme delays that you have.

My hoster is Strato as well, maybe they screwed up something?!

yeah - I was thinking about putting the topics together :-).

Interesting, that strato is your hoster, too. Some time ago, they turned on "siteguard" stuff, which stopped formular processing like for contacts in getSimple - but also on Wordpress Installation I am using. So I turned off siteguard in the strato settings.

That was in March, I guess.

So there's something wrong with strato, I guess. but how to tell them? Strato is really sometimes a mess - sometimes you can be lucky when you have some "normal" person on the hotline. Most of them don't know anything.
