I suggest you change your template's line <?php get_header(); ?> to <?php get_header(false); ?>
This way your site won't have the canonical meta tag (all News Manager posts have the same canonical url, that of the news page - bad for SEO)

Thanks for your advice. All the same canonical urls are due to SEO Manager plugin and I've found it very helpful for regional SEO.
