Russian wiki translation questions

Question
I'm one of those guys who translates GS WIKI into Russian
Sorry if the question seems stupid, but ...

There's an entry in the WIKI section Plugin Hooks & Filters

It says - "login-reqs Fired on the login sidebar"

I have no idea where or what is this login sidebar in GS.
I stare at the backend - nothing looks like one. Sad

Could anyone just tell me where it is?Big Grin

Older GS versions had a sidebar in the login page, where some requirements were displayed (a warning about IE and something else).
This hook allowed plugins to insert some text/info there (or do some other action).

Currently (3.2.x) it's not really a sidebar - it would be displayed under "Forgot your password?"

Could someone correct the English Wiki?

Someone who knows what it means.

Sorry to bother you again, guys
I just don't want to start a new topic
Here comes a new question

http://get-simple.info/wiki/plugins:tips

it says :

Determining the GetSimple version is not as straight forward as it could be, as the only available function in 2.03 - return_site_ver() - outputs the version in 2.03 and returns it in 3.0b (deprecated here)

But
The tag reference list
http://get-simple.info/wiki/themes:template_tags

has no info that the tag is deprecated.
Then is the tag really deprecated or not?

Cheers
Big Grin

I don't know what that means. It is not deprecated, perhaps it was missing from some versions.

Just another question
This one is about gsconfig.php

GSEXTAPI (3.1+) adds a new option to the settings page: activate the API for plugins that use this new function

I can't make it out. Could anyone explain it to me like for uno stupido bambino?Big Grin

Am I right in thinking that the setting is to allow plugins to use new GS API for plugin update notification?
Cheers

from temp.gsconfig
# Enable the External API to be shown on settings page
#define('GSEXTAPI', 1);

It turns the api on in your install. As far as I know nooe uses this, I am not sure if it still works, I have never tested it, its from before my time.

Arkady,
I changed the thread topic to be more appropriate, just continue using this thread to ask more of the same.

D.O.
But of course, but why the frivolous post it does not really add anything to the discussion. Do you have something in mind, maybe someone can keep track of people to add to the credits.
