Moving from Sub Directory to Root

Hello,

If I install GS to a sub-directory on the web server and build the new site while leaving the old site intact on the root.... do I have to re-install GS to the root when I am ready to move it over? Or can I just take the entire contents of the sub-directory and move them to the root?

Will their be paths that will need to be updated in this scenario?

I always thought that you had to move stuff manually, after having installed GS in a sub directory. Not sure if you can move a whole site in one sitting. Then again I never had very large sites to move. How much stuff do you have to move?

you can develop in the sub and maybe add a rewrite rule to just use the sub when you are ready.
There are a bunch of posts about gs in a subfolder.
