QUESTION Performance problem: it's very slow to browse in GS CMS.
#1
Dear all, Good day!
At first let me say THANK YOU for this good CMS.
But I have problem about performance with GetSimple CMS, and I hope somebody can help me.
-----------
I installed apache and php on my laptop (CPU: I5, RAM: 6G, OS: win8.1 64bit) and got GetSimple running with full functions. It typically takes about 10 seconds to save changes/ reload new pages with http://localhost or http://127.0.0.1.

I tried all of these ways but didn't get better results:
1)Use different browser, chrome and IE;
2)Use wamp package other than fresh installation of apache+php;
3)Disable (even uninstall) antivirus/ firewall in my OS
3)Use a cloud platform other than localhost. Please visit http://getsimple1.jd-app.com/ for testing. It's located in China.
-------------
What's wrong in my case?
Thanks in advance!

Hi everybody!
I checked with a web engineer and found the problem is with my internet environment. I am from China and the Great Fire Wall blocked some top sites such as google/facebook/twitter here, so with many links to google in GS codes, I have bad performance.
Hope somebody can take this into consideration with new releases.
Thank you very much!

That will turn off all cdn in core and use local versions of jquery etc., but plugins might still have some hardcoded.

I've changed the code to use cdn services provided by some Chinese company. So problem is solve for me. Thanks again.
Just FYI, all of your Chinese users should also have this problem even with get-simple.info, I think it could be an important cause that GS haven't become popular in China.

Nocdn is default in 3.4
I will also add config for using alternate cdn perhaps.

So do Chinese people not have popular software or proxies to handle this stuff?
Seems like a good idea for someone to make a proxy or host file to handle all cdns that are blocked and rewrite to local behind the wall. Browser plugins etc.

I am quite sure that I'm not the 1st Chinese user of GS, because the language pack of Chinese is already good enough. The language pack must have been provided by a guy from China.

A Chinese company, with name 360, is already relaying google's services here: http://libs.useso.com/.
