Any chance this will be made compatible with with GS 3.3? I upload the contents of the zip into the plugin directory and receive an error when I try to activate it. Without any documentation i am left to assume that there is a compatibility issue.

Ran into the same issue with installing the plugin.
Serves me right for installing a plugin without first making a backup.
This plugin does not work with 3.3.2 or forward

This plugin puts hooks all over and patches the core.
after removing the plugin you get a blank home page and no other content.
If you go remove some of the hooks you have no menu items anymore.
You may have index.php.old as a backup in your site root unless like me you immediately reactivated the plugin which overwrote the .old file again.

Backup your site from the admin panel

remove or deactivate the TIDEngine News/Blog Manager plugin
setup GetSimple again under a sub site or new site
copy index.php in from the new site to the site root

This should fix the display and menu issues.
There may be more core patches I haven't found yet.

I think this plugin is not maintained, better try another solution: http://get-simple.info/wiki/plugins:guide#blog_news
