QUESTION Mark as featured news
#1
Wink
Hi,

I am using News Manager (updated version) plugin to create news/posts.
I would like to mark one or some posts as featured news on the front end.
I have tried with custom fields plugin, it works for "page" only.
Would it possible? Could you guys please give me an idea how to do it?

Thank you so much.

Using NM and the extra plugin NM Addons you can do a lot with ordinary tags.  If you tag certain posts 'featured' you can display just the featured posts somewhere, or style them differently:

Normaly you should post such a question in the plugins topic:

datiswous is right, generally it's better to post questions in the plugin support thread - this way, people subscribed to the thread (usually including the plugin author) will be notified by email.

News Manager doesn't currently support custom fields. But you can do it with tags, as Timbow suggests.

If you choose to it that way, but you don't want a featured (or whatever) tag displayed under your posts, you can use a "hidden" tag, by prefixing it with an underscore, e.g. _featured

Thanks to @Carlos, @Datiswous and @Timbow

I have used News Manager Add-on plugin and done some tricks in AdminCP. And my Editor appears as below:

By doing this, I can categorize and display posts into specified categories to home page.
Thank you for your help.
