pages.xml file
#1
it would be nice to have a single file called say "pages.xml" which holds all the option information and filenames
of every page on the site that could quickly be read into memory instead of having to read each file in every time
we need to do something.

The menu function as it is at the moment must read in every file in the pages folder and extract this information.
This way we look at one file and then read only the ones we want.

This would enable us to quickly search for say tags, do submenus, do sidemenu, sort on dates etc.

It could be generated everytime a page is updated on the main site.

Clients always want to be able to change the content of their pages, but they are unwilling to do so.

Have you ever coded in your underwear before?

How odd of me to not have noticed this post. I would like to second the idea.

Not going to copy it, so just going to link: I commented on file requesting overheat in the tag cloud topic.
