Guidance for Specific Hosting Companies

Below are the problems/tips/tricks for installing GetSimple on specific web hosts. Feel free to add your own from your own experiences.

  • Arvixe: There are no problems at all using GetSimple on this host with Linux. (* unconfirmed on Windows)
  • biohost.de: changes in .htaccess required
  • Chunkhost.com: There are no problems at all using GetSimple on this host. It is necessary to double check file permissions after install and make sure to manually delete install.php and update.php.
  • DreamHost: There are no problems at all using GetSimple on this host. A “One-Click Install” option that includes automatic upgrades is offered for free.
  • GoDaddy: There are no problems at all using GetSimple on this host.
  • Hostgator: There are no problems at all using GetSimple on this host. Sometimes after an FTP upload you just have to check for the corret file permissions to be set up.
  • Key Lime Hosting: There are no problems at all using GetSimple on this host.
  • RoseHosting Free GetSimple Setup
  • Hostroute Recommended. 20MB of free professional quality hosting is enough for a GetSimple Site.
  • easily.co.uk Not so good. A simple site will work but they have their own system for file permissions so you will struggle.
  • sysprovide.de Runs well with minimal editing of the .htaccess
  • Aruba Runs well with minimal editing of the .htaccess
  • One.com Danish webhost, officially supports GetSimple and works very well (much faster than WordPress)
  • hosting.nic.ru Runs well after enabling PHP DOM mudule in settings. Also Zip and cUrl modules were disabled by default.
  • webmasters.com Make sure running PHP5 (default is PHP4). Can change setting in ControlPanel.
