Getsimple Portable 3.1.2 English version - jlm - 2012-03-15 Hi, I posted a version of super lightweight Getsimple Portable v3.1 English [NEW VERSION 3.1.2]. This pack allows you to test or develop a site in Getsimple locally on hard disk (external or internal) on a USB key (thus mobile) using very little space (<13 MB) I use this method for many projects I have running on different CMS (getsimple, Pluxml, gpeasy, templateCMS, ...) and it works perfectly. Download at: http://sourceforge.net/p/getsimpleporten/wiki/Home/ the french version is on forum http://get-simple.info/forum/topic/3581/getsimple-portable-31-in-french/ Getsimple Portable 3.1 English version - Draxeiro - 2012-03-15 Very interesting! I have a customer wanting to be able to take his GetSimple site with him while visiting customers, so a portable version like this would be great. I just read through your the topic regarding the french version. While I do understand a bit of french let me ask again here (as not everybody will understand the language and as such the FAQ on your site). How exactly does this function? With a pre-installed local webserver program or differently? Can you give a little more info? Thanks in advance! Double-click the GetSimplePortable.exe file in the unpacked folder and that's it. It starts a webserver (together with other requirements of the server stack) and puts a GS icon in the taskbar. Click the GS icon and select 'Launch'. This will start the default browser and open http://127.0.0.1/GetSimple. Log in to the admin interface at http://127.0.0.1/GetSimple/admin; username: admin, password: admin. The rest, as they say, is easy. ;-) There is nothing to install and it leaves no mark on the host Windows system. All the GS folders are accessible from the Windows file manager in <parent folder>\App\GetSimple. (This is based on using the French version: I can't imagine that the English version can be very different.) Getsimple Portable 3.1 English version - Draxeiro - 2012-03-15 Merci beaucoup! Sounds simple enough. I guess after that it is just a matter of copying your own relevant GS files to the disk and be done? But also for anyone wishing to develop sites with getsimple, knowing that you can "copy" this package many times and work on multiple projects simultaneously. Sure there are other processes that do the same thing (but often heavier with a "duty" to manage mysql). With this pack the advantage is definitely the quick start. To be able to keep an on-line site synchronised with the FramaKey server, you may find that avoiding absolute URLs is sufficient. Getsimple Portable 3.1.2 English NEW version - jlm - 2012-12-05 Hi, new version >> http://sourceforge.net/p/getsimpleporten/wiki/Home/ RE: Getsimple Portable 3.1.2 English version - datiswous - 2012-12-07 Why is the admin interface so horrably slow? It takes a minute to login. |
