Currently:
If you just need to have the creation date field, I think that I18N Search or I18N Custom Fields/Special Pages create it automatically.
If you need an editable date field, you can use the PubDateFix plugin. It was designed for GS 2.x but it works with newer versions. (I may update it one of these days)
