What Get-Simple really needs is a great new blog script. Most clients would love to have a blog where they can post their thoughts and comments but the current extensions leave a lot to be desired and are either bug-filled or complicated to set up and modify their design.
Maybe some of us should pool our resources and hire a programmer to write an extension that works seamlessly and reliably with this great CMS.

I think is a great idea.
Get Simple needs a robust blog extension.
I think
GS Blog could be a nice solution with a little of work like bug fixing, an internal commentary system and I18N Search Integration.

There are already at least 2 good working blog plugins:
- http://get-simple.info/extend/plugin/gs-blog/462/
The news manager updated plugin, works well and is easy to use. The other one I don't know, but I suspect it's a bit more advanced.

I've tested both. I'm finally using GS Blog cause I think is more advanced than News Manager, but GS Blog need more work to do.
It has comments system via Disqus, but it will be fine to has a local comment system. And GS Blog has any bugs. I've trying to solve some of them, but my PHP skills does not allow me to do a better job.
