I often have the same problem. Deleting the cookies fixes it for me.

The sha1-string in the wiki (http://get-simple.info/wiki/config:multi-user) is not for "password". The correct string should be "5baa61e4c9b93f3f0682250b6cf8331b7ee68fd8".
